Set Free

4/7/20 (Holy Week)
“For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.”
Romans 6:7 NLT
There is such good news in the cross of Christ! Finally, the promised Lamb of God came to remove the fear and power of sin and death.  Paul tells us that our old selves were nailed to that cross with Jesus. That means that our sin, our shame, our fears and the power of the lies that entangle us are dead, have lost their power. They have been covered in Jesus’ blood, his righteousness.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “That means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
As a result of Jesus taking our sin, we are now are no longer God’s enemies, but children of God and Christ’s friends and coworkers. We are set free to live in the freedom that comes with sharing in Christ’s authority and glory on earth.
Are you still carrying something that Jesus already carried for you on the cross?  This week, go to the cross and nail it there and refuse to take it back!  No more fear, no more sin, no more shame!  If any of it tries to creep back, nail it there again!  Receive the peace and joy that Jesus came to give us.  Hallelujah!  Christ is risen!  Sin and death have lost their power over us!
Dear friend, this week be blessed as you choose not to allow darkness to over shadow your Easter.  Be truly blessed as you press in to claim your freedom in Christ!
