While I was working on lesson plans recently, I kept looking over my computer, outside through the window. As I did, I reflected on the fact that next week is Easter... and that Jesus is going to be the same whether or not we are all stuffed in churches or in our pj's on the couch at home.
Each year I read the familiar passages that tell us about Jesus' journey through Good Friday .. and Easter. I want to experience that in a deeper way this year. ~ Wouldn't it be amazing if Jesus walked with the cross down my street, on the way to his crucifixion and resurrection? ~ From my window, what would I say or do if I saw the rock from his tomb rolled away? ~ What would I need to hear Jesus say, if the first thing after his resurrection, He came to my house? What would I say to him? I expect the responses to those thoughts may help me experience Easter in a new way this year ... from a window. Dear friends, be blessed to be bold in experiencing Jesus this Easter. May he and all that he did for you come alive and be present to you this year. Amen. Jenny Hoffman April 3, 2020
